Presenter- Job Skills Workshops

Having worked a total of 41 years in the private sector and in military service, Bob Plummer retired from the US Army and from IBM. He now participates in multiple areas of service. In his current season of retirement, rather than holding onto past accomplishments and titles, Bob's passion is to care for, serve, and invest in others. For example, Bob serves with the Career Network Ministry in the DC/Metro area by providing caring support and job search consultation to people in a career transition. Bob also serves as a responder to Disaster Relief & Rebuild efforts by providing help & hope to families & communities beset by crisis, and natural & man-made calamities. Most of all, he is thankful for being placed in his church community where he can worship and serve God, as well as to care for and minister to the needs of people. He deeply appreciates those who invested in him throughout his life.

Throughout Bob’s former season of life in the private sector, Bob’s passion was to work with and drive organizations to achieve major transformational improvement opportunities. He encouraged them to imagine a brighter future beyond the range of their horizon, working on developing and converting concepts-for-change (strategic, technical, process, organizational) from abstract thoughts & ideas to concrete solutions that matter, add value, and are real.

Bob has extensive professional experience in managing and delivering various strategic, organizational, process, and technical solutions for multiple Federal civilian agencies and military services. His skills encompass program and project management, IT portfolio management, IT capital planning and investment control, portfolio integration and analysis, systems engineering and integration, futures and strategic planning, business operations strategies, major study support, business case analysis, corporate governance and senior decision making, process improvement and reengineering, performance management, organizational change management, customer relationship management, human resource functional support, and strategic communications planning.

In addition to his management, consulting, and technical services background, Bob proudly served 22 years in the United States Army as an Armor/Cavalry Officer. He held numerous command and staff-level positions in worldwide unit assignments, at the Department of the Army level, and in a Joint military assignment. Bob is proud to have served this great Nation.
