A CNM Success Story - Leigh Anne Albert

Career Network Ministry wishes to congratulate CNM member Leigh Anne Albert on her new position as Director of Operations for the Foundation for Financial Planning.

Leigh Anne attended various CNM online workshops and joined an Executive Job Search Accountability Team in the summer of 2025. She says that this process helped her refine her positioning, kick start her exploration and update her marketing collateral.

“I paused my search for several months while I pivoted to interim COO role at my company. This helped me build skills and experience in my planned career change to an operational leadership role. During this time, I also explored various sectors, and my curiosity and personal interests led me to the financial planning sector.

As I became more focused, I started to follow a few organizations and was able to react quickly when the right role came up. I was lucky — this was the first role I applied for. Even though the title and level were below my target, I felt getting into the right sector and organization were more important and that in time, there would be room for growth.

I had an authentic, non-AI-generated cover letter which secured me a spot in the interview process. I also had a strong rationale as to why being "overqualified" did not matter — the mission and fit were right for me and the organization.“

Leigh Anne says her take-away lessons were that each job search is unique and there is not one pathway to success. “In this case, what worked for me was to keep focused, flexible, curious, and true to my interests.”
