For the past three years, Stephanie Melvin has been a steady, compassionate guide for job seekers navigating one of life’s most challenging transitions. As a Job Search Accountability Team Co-Leader and an Interview Practice Partner with CNM, Stephanie has helped dozens of individuals not only sharpen their job search strategies but also reclaim hope and clarity in the process.

From Participant to Leader

Stephanie’s journey with CNM began when she attended a webinar featuring CNM leader Gail Crockett. Intrigued by the mission, she joined a Job Search Accountability Team as a participant. It wasn’t long before her natural insight and encouragement stood out—so much so that one of the team leaders encouraged her to step into a leadership role herself.

Supporting Job Seekers Through Every Step

Today, she co-leads one of CNM’s Job Search Accountability Teams through an intensive 9-week program, working closely with job seekers to navigate every facet of their journey—from resume updates to emotional resilience. “I help team members navigate the job search process and all it entails—emotions, frustrations, and learning how to do things differently,” Stephanie says. Also, she is an Interview Practice Partner, one of the team of business professionals who helps CNM members by providing personalized interview practice. In addition, she supplies administrative support to the program.

The Power of Connection

What makes volunteering so meaningful for Stephanie? It’s the connections. “I like seeing that people hear you and understand that you understand what they are going through,” she shares. “It’s rewarding when they thank you for seeing things they didn’t see—and in the end, their mindset changes. They see a path forward they couldn’t see before.”

Growing Through Giving Back

Stephanie also credits CNM with transforming her own outlook: “I’ve become a more patient and empathetic person because of volunteering. Meeting new people, learning how to respond to different personalities—even those who don’t want to listen at first—has changed me.”

Outside of CNM

When she’s not empowering job seekers, Stephanie enjoys movies, walking, reading, and exploring museums. A little-known fact? She’s a passionate fan of opera. “A story being told in music with such levels of emotion—it gets to me every time.”

Thank You, Stephanie

We are so grateful for Stephanie’s wisdom, dedication, and heartfelt service. She reminds us that real change happens not just with resumes and interviews—but through connection, compassion, and someone who truly listens.

Thank you, Stephanie, for being such a vital part of CNM!
