Pamela Waltz

Pamela Waltz, PhD, is an organizational psychologist and executive coach who integrates insights from psychology and spiritual discernment to support senior leaders navigating professional transitions. She serves CNM as the Spiritual Direction Pilot Facilitator, connecting members with trained spiritual directors for faith-integrated support throughout their career transitions. Pamela’s professional and lived experience have convinced her that job transitions, while often disruptive and disorienting, can become meaningful opportunities to notice and respond to God’s presence and activity, grow in self-awareness, and strengthen resilience.

Supporting people through employment transitions has been a recurring theme throughout Pamela’s professional and volunteer life. As an academic researcher, she studied the experiences of unemployed job seekers and the disclosure decisions of job seekers with concealable disabilities. As a volunteer, she provided job-readiness support to individuals facing significant barriers to employment, including formerly incarcerated individuals and survivors of trauma.

Her commitment to job seekers is also rooted in lived experience. Pamela has made several bold career transitions, moving from law into family office management then startup operations before launching her first consulting practice. She has also experienced a prolonged period of underemployment and unemployment when a career transition didn’t unfold as expected, giving her firsthand insight into the discouragement, disorientation, and loss of identity that can accompany a difficult transition. Having since walked alongside clients, friends and relatives navigating their own protracted job searches, Pamela is passionate about helping people encounter God's presence, guidance, and care in their uncertainty and waiting.

Pamela has a PhD in Organizational Psychology, a mini-MBA, and is completing training in Christian spiritual direction. A lifelong learner, Pamela can often be found with a book in hand, exploring topics at the intersection of faith, work, and human flourishing. After years in the mountain West, Pamela and her husband now call Northern Virginia home, where they continue their shared love of the outdoors by exploring the East Coast’s beaches and trails.
