Resume Review

Joe Boltersdorf retired as a Consultant, Trainer, and Senior Instructional Systems Designer at the FBI Academy, where he contributed to the Counterintelligence Training Center, FBI Lab, and Leadership Development Programs Division. In this role, he developed curricula, evaluated trainers and courses, analyzed training requirements, and facilitated training for programs focused on  Counterintelligence Operations, National Security & Intelligence for Law Enforcement, Senior Leader.  With over 40 years’ experience as a consultant and training, Joe has supported the Department of Defense, large IT corporations, and federal agencies.

Joe discovered CNM over 20 years ago, while preparing for retirement from the United States Air Force, where he served for 30 years—10 years enlisted and 20 years as a commissioned officer. Although he had private career transition support, he was intrigued by CNM’s outreach and attended a meeting. During his first visit, he met a job seeker on the verge of losing his home, struggling to land interviews despite his expertise in homeland security & force protection. Joe believed then, as he does now, that God placed him next to this man for a reason. Drawing on his professional network, he connected him with corporate contractors, leading to a job offer within a week. This experience reinforced his belief that CNM is a Christ-centered organization that lends a helping hand to others without expectations of any returns from those who are helped.

When Joe’s friend and Air Force partner, John "JV" Venable prepared for retirement, Joe encouraged him to explore CNM. Over the years, Joe returned to CNM a few times to volunteer, but didn't make any steady commitment, due to his work demands. Last year, JV reached out again, asking if Joe if would consider volunteering with CNM to help others with their resumes, interviewing, etc. JV knew Joe had started his own company, Right Path Resumes & Consulting, LLC, after he and his  entire division was laid off in 2011.After prayerful consideration, Joe rejoined CNM, bringing his expertise in career development to support job seekers.

Beyond his career and volunteer work, Joe is also an author. He published a children’s book, Nightfire, and is currently working on multiple children’s and non-fiction books. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Education and master’s degrees in Adult Education and Human Resource Management. As a service-disabled veteran, he remains committed to mentorship, faith, and service, making CNM the perfect place for him to serve.
