Networking turns a job search from a numbers game into a relationship driven process. It shortens the search, improves fit, and provides AIR – advice, information, and referrals. AIR allows us to be more knowledgeable about our industry/function and better connected. It puts a spring in our step and adds confidence to all our interactions. Positive energy is a game changer. Networking is a life skill.

We will discuss five different networking tools and share as a group ideas around each.

• How to best use LinkedIn to network online.

• Conducting one on one coffee meetings.

• How to best seek and ask for employee referrals.

• How to work meetings – both virtual and in-person.

• How to ask for and conduct informational interviews.

Come prepared to engage in what will be an interactive session where we all learn from each other and walk away with actionable ideas to implement.

About the Speaker

After a long career in technology Bob has been leading CNM since 2008. He has conducted over 5,000 one on one coffee meetings with folks in job transition and learned most of what he knows from the amazing speakers CNM has hosted each and every week. Bob had roles as EVP for Corporate Development at VeriSign, CFO/COO of Network Solutions and VP of Finance at SAIC. He and his wife have been active in the non-profit community of the DMV for the last 20 years. They have two adult children, a treasured son-in-law and two grandchildren they adore.
